Sat.-Sun., November 5 – 6, 2016 – Bazaar: Fair Trade and More

Formerly known as the Fair Trade Bazaar, the Bazaar: Fair Trade and More event will take place Saturday, Nov. 5 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. and Sunday, Nov. 6 from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m.  at the Hellenic Center, located behind the Kimisis Greek Orthodox Church, at 140 South Grand Avenue, Poughkeepsie, NY.  In addition to selling fair trade items from around the world, the event also includes local artisans and non-profit organizations as vendors.  CMF will have a booth at this event, so come by and check out the event!


Sat., October 15, 2016 – 4th Annual Old-Fashioned Cider Tasting, 11am-3pm

Fri., October 14, 2016 – Historic Tavern Trail of Dutchess County, 6pm

We are pleased to be the October location of the Historic Tavern Trail of Dutchess County.  The event will take place at the Mill from 6:00-8:00pm.  Activities include:

  • Brief presentation
  • Tour of the Mill
  • Tasting of three local ciders including our own Kimlin Cider
  • Appetizers provided by Chocolate Mousse Catering
  • Bonfire and s’mores
  • Seating in the cafe and outside under a tent
  • Raffle

Sat., October 8, 2016 – Volunteer Work Day, 9:30am-12:30pm

Sat., October 1, 2016 – Cider Pressing

If you are interested in participating in the pressing of our annual Kimlin Cider using a 115-year-old screw-type press, please let us know.  The pressing will be taking place off-site and throughout the day.


Sat., September 24, 2016 – Arlington Street Fair, 12-6pm

We will have a booth at this annual event.  Come by the street fair on Raymond Avenue in Ppoughkeepsie and say hi!

This open house is aimed towards the Vassar College Alumni that will be present for Reunion Weekend, but we welcome everyone to attend.  More information will be announced as it is planned.

April 30, 2016 – Second Annual Walk to the Mill, 1-3pm

In coordination with the Vassar College Ecological Preserve and The Environmental Cooperative at the Vassar Barns, Cider Mill Friends has organized a walk from Vassar College and Vassar Farms to the Kimlin Cider Mill.  Follow in the footsteps of past Vassar students who walked to the Mill to get cider, donuts, cookies, and generally hang out.  This is the second year of the event.  More details in the flyer below (click to enlarge).

Friday-Monday, February 12-15, 2016 – Great Backyard Bird Count

This was our fourth year participating in the Great Backyard Bird Count at the Mill.  We spend about an hour in the mornings at the Mill, counting the birds we see.  A trained ornithologist was present.  We are happy to participate in this event every year.
